Ice B’ Gone Magic
What is Ice B’ Gone Magic?
Ice B’ Gone Magic was the first “agricultural” based ice melter formulated in 1997. Although the product has been around for over 30 years, the formula has not changed. Ice B’ Gone Magic has a few unique qualities that no other ice melter can claim or prove. For instance did you know that all “agricultural” ice melters use sugar to achieve its melting capacity. When sugar is introduced with a chloride, the chloride will usually perform better together than by itself.
With the discovery of sugar being added became a huge game changer in the ice melting industry. The Ice B’ Gone magic product has a sugar content of 59% giving Ice B’ Gone Magic a huge advantage in its ice melting capacity and a performance curve that competitors simply can not match. In addition, Ice B’ Gone Magic has a significantly longer residual performance that is also unmatched by other competitors.
There is no other pure sugar source with such a high sugar content available as sugar cane and distilled condensed soluble (DCS). The Sugar can be mixed with any chloride, but when mixed with magnesium chloride you see the best results. Magnesium chloride, on its own, will not work to temperatures as low as -10 degrees Fahrenheit. It is also the least corrosive of the chloride family. When the DCS is added to the Magnesium Chloride it is a monumental game changer that gives the user a product that now works to -45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sugar, however is not its only benefit to making IBG Magic such a superior ice melter. In addition, IBG Magic is safe for around pets and children, it is completely environmentally friendly, reduces your corrosion factor, and provides for a huge cost savings!
IBG Magic Treated Salt
Bulk salt has a melting point down to 18 degrees Fahrenheit however when combined with IBG Magic you achieve a melting point of -35 degrees Fahrenheit. A substantial reduction of volume of material will be required for deicing applications. When using traditional rock salt twice as much product will be required to produce the same effects as IBG Magic treated road salt. In fact, you will see a 30-50% reduction in overall salt usage. Additionally, IBG treated salt is 80% less corrosive, saving your equipment, infostructure, and vegetation from damage.
IBG Magic Liquid
IBG Magic can be applied directly to the pavement using a truck mounted spraying system. This can be done as anti-icing prior to the snow collecting on road surfaces. IBG Magic prevents the snow from sticking to the pavement, which will reduce plowing time dramatically. When you mix salt brine with 20% IBG Magic you will have an enhanced brine. By doing so you will reduce the corrosive nature of salt brine and give the salt brine the ability to work to -5 degrees Fahrenheit compared to 18 degrees when standard brine is made.
